Cininfo Events – Online and Offline Code of Conduct
Cininfo is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all participants, members and Cininfo staff. All participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, Cininfo staff, service providers, and others are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct at virtual or physical Cininfo events, and events held in conjunction with Cininfo events, virtually or in public or private facilities. This Code of Conduct may be revised by Cininfo at any time and the terms are non-negotiable. Your registration for or attendance at any Cininfo event indicates your agreement to abide by this policy and its terms.
Expected Behaviour
- All participants, attendees, Cininfo staff, and vendors are treated with respect and consideration, valuing a diversity of views and opinions.
- Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speech.
- Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert Cininfo staff if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
- Respect the rules and policies of all virtual environments, meeting venue, hotels, Cininfo contracted facility, or any other venue.
- Wear your badge or display identifying credentials as required by Cininfo at all times while at an event or event venue.
- Agree not to sell, trade, transfer, or share your event access code/link/credentials, unless such transfer is granted by Cininfo.
- If Cininfo determines that you have violated this policy, Cininfo may cancel your access, retain any payments made by you, report you to law enforcement authorities, and ban you from future events.
Inappropriate Behaviour
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form will not be tolerated.
- Physical or verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, Cininfo staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
- Inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides)
- Any boisterous, lewd or offensive behaviour or language, including but not limited to sexually explicit or offensive language or conduct, profanity, obscene gestures, or racial, religious or ethnic slurs.
- Spam or promotional materials of any third parties.
- Wearing clothing that is not suitable for a professional work environment, that is provocative, inappropriate or otherwise potentially offensive.
- Possession of a weapon or any item that can be used as a weapon, which may be used to threaten or cause injury to others if used in a certain manner.
- Any destruction or vandalizing of personal property or event site or materials.
- Possessing any illegal substance.
- Assembling for the purpose of, or resulting in, disturbing the peace, or committing any unlawful act or engaging in any offensive behaviour.
- Any other illegal activity not already covered above.
- Failing to obey any of the rules or regulations of all virtual environments, event venues or instructions of Cininfo staff.
- Sharing your event badge or participation credentials with other individuals.
- Examples of inappropriate behaviour include, but are not limited to, typed, written, verbal virtual, etc. comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin, inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations, harassing photography or recordings, offensive email, voicemail messages or social media postings, or deliberate threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, Cininfo staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest.
- Recording, live streaming, and videotaping is prohibited unless by specific written consent by Cininfo. Participants may not record or broadcast audio or video of sessions at Cininfo virtual events.
- Cininfo reserves the right to deny participation to anyone who engages in or is reputed to engage in unethical or non-compliant business practices.
Consequences
- Anyone requested to stop inappropriate behaviour is expected to comply immediately.
- Cininfo staff (or their designee) or security may take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the event without warning or refund.
- Cininfo reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future event or meeting.
Reporting Inappropriate Behaviour. Remember if you See Something, Say Something
- If you experience or witness a threat to public safety or life safety emergency, please contact your local authorities immediately.
- If you have a complaint or concern about harassment, discrimination, bullying or any other conduct that violates this policy, we encourage you to immediately notify a Cininfo staff member or Cininfo volunteer in a leadership position.
- After hours, if you see something suspicious or would like to report a security issue, remember if you See Something, Say Something by calling local authorities, or contacting Cininfo at info@cininfo.com.
Reporting Inappropriate Behaviour during Virtual or Physical Events
- Any participant who feels unsafe or experiences unwelcome conduct, who observes or experiences unacceptable behaviour, or who believes there has been a violation of this Policy, is encouraged to contact Cininfo by email info@cininfo.com. It may not be possible to follow up or take action on reports that are anonymous, and you acknowledge that Cininfo may have less ability to investigate fully an anonymous report.
